Trade turnover of Kazakhstan with EAEU countries in 2023 increased by 12%

The trade turnover of Kazakhstan with the EAEU countries in January-April 2023 amounted to $8,999.5 million, which is 12% more in nominal terms compared to the same period last year, Zakon.kz reports citing the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan.

For the three months of 2023, exports of goods amounted to $3,536.1 million (47% more), imports - $5,463.4 million (3% less).

In the total volume of foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan with the EAEU countries, Russia accounts for 92.2%, Kyrgyzstan - 4.5%, Belarus - 3.2% and Armenia - 0.1%.

The largest share in exports with the EAEU countries is occupied by machinery, equipment, vehicles, instruments and apparatus - 28.2%, followed by products of the chemical and related industries - 26.7%.

The structure of imports from the EAEU countries is dominated by products of animal and vegetable origin, prepared food products - 20.5%, metals and metal products - 18.6%, as well as machinery, equipment, vehicles, instruments and apparatus - 17.4% .

In January-March 2023, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the EAEU countries amounted to $6,629 million, which is 11.6% more in nominal terms compared to the same period last year.
