The presentation of the Coordinating Platform for the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) took place in Astana. Its purpose is to expand the corridor's functionality, transforming it into a multimodal and competitive route that connects Europe with Asia in 15 days or less.
The event was attended by representatives from Central Asian countries and other countries along the corridor, as well as international financial institutions and G7 countries not part of the EU, reports Ritm Eurasia.
According to Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport, Marat Karabayev, "The creation of the Coordinating Platform provides us with a unique opportunity to unite efforts, share experiences, and exchange opinions to achieve common goals. I would like to note that our partners from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey are invited to participate in this work, which plays an important role in light of the large and sustainable goals for developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route."
In the opinion of Henrik Hololei, a high-ranking advisor to the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission, "The Coordinating Platform established for the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor marks a significant step forward in our cooperation aimed at bringing Central Asia and Europe closer together. Sustainable transport connectivity is crucial for strengthening the region's economic growth and its interconnection with Europe."
