Kazakhstan and Turkey signed documents in the field of investment in the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan and trade in agricultural products worth $2 billion (179.9 billion rubles), the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported.
It is noted that the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov made a working visit to Turkey. There he met with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Ibrahim Yumakli. The parties discussed the development of Kazakh-Turkish relations in the field of agriculture.
At the meeting, Saparov noted that the growth in the volume of trade in agricultural products between the countries by the end of 2023 amounted to 13%. He emphasized that it is necessary to continue work aimed at increasing the supply of high-quality agricultural products.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on direct investment and the creation of joint ventures.
"Following the trip, a number of documents were signed in the field of investment in the agro-industrial complex and trade in agricultural products for a total of $2 billion," the report says.
It is specified that six projects with the participation of Turkish investors have already been implemented in Kazakhstan. Another 10 investment projects worth $553 million (49.7 billion rubles) are to be completed in the near future. These projects include the construction of greenhouse complexes, plants for deep processing of wheat and beans, vegetable storage facilities, and others.
