Members of the Port Control Group of the customs post "Farap avtoyollary" of the customs of the Lebap region of Turkmenistan took a practical course on the control of container traffic together with colleagues from the customs post "Alat" of Uzbekistan, Orient reported.
The event touched upon such important aspects of customs activities as the organization of work at customs posts, the features of the functioning of the inspection and screening complexes equipped there, and the fight against illegal trade at posts.
The participants exchanged views on the issues of risk management at customs posts, including the careful control of high-risk goods and the exchange of relevant information between the customs officers of the two countries.
The course is organized within the framework of the joint program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Customs Organization "On Control of Container Traffic".
Customs inspection is a key tool that ensures control over compliance with international treaties and acts in the field of customs regulation by participants in foreign economic activity.
