Demand for Turkmen energy resources is currently increasing, stated President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov in his address on the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers of the country, TDH reports.

"At present, there is an increasing demand for Turkmen energy resources. Globally renowned companies and financial institutions are seeking cooperation in this field. Turkmenistan's strategy for the comprehensive development of natural gas exports is based on expanding the opportunities for hydrocarbon resource extraction," the address reads, the text of which was published in the official newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan."

Berdymukhamedov emphasized that significant attention is given to the processing of natural gas and the production of products in high demand on the global market in the country. "A vivid confirmation of this is the construction and commissioning of several modern gas chemical complexes in recent years," he added.

On December 14th, Turkmenistan celebrates the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers. The holiday was established in 2009, coinciding with the opening and commissioning of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline on December 14th, initiating the supply of Turkmen gas. Currently, three lines of this gas pipeline are operational, annually supplying around 40 billion cubic meters of gas, making China the largest importer of Turkmen gas. Negotiations are underway for the creation of a fourth line, which will increase the volume of supplies by another 25 billion cubic meters.

Turkmenistan is a major player in the oil and gas market in Asia. The country's hydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons of oil equivalent, including over 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas. Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in proven natural gas reserves after Russia, Iran, and Qatar.
