The Turkmen city of Arkadag received three awards at the World Smart City Expo 2024, held in Goyang, South Korea. This was reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Korea.
The "smart city" Arkadag took first place in the award ceremony. The Turkmen delegation was honored with the following three awards:
- Excellence Award – an award for outstanding achievements (Arkadag was the only city to receive this award).
- Foreign City Award – an award for a "Foreign City."
- WSCE 2024 Contribution Award – an award for contributing to the development of WSCE 2024.
During the award ceremony, the head of the Turkmen delegation, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, D. Orazov, delivered a thank-you speech.
In his speech, he noted the high level of organization of the event, stating that the exhibition showcased technologies and systems that meet the modern requirements of "smart cities." He also emphasized that the awards given to the "smart city" Arkadag reflect the achievements of Turkmenistan's urban planning policy, according to the source.
