The 11th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tajik intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation is being held in Ashgabat, Orient reports.
The Turkmen part of the commission was headed by Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov, and the Tajik part was headed by Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma.
The parties noted the progressive development of bilateral relations, which were given a powerful impetus by mutual visits of the President of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan in September 2021 and the head of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan in August and November 2021.
During the current meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to further strengthen cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific and technical fields, and also reached various new agreements in areas of mutual interest.
The participants of the event heard reports on the implementation of previously reached agreements during the 10th meeting of the Turkmen-Tajik intergovernmental commission, which was held on July 28-29, 2021 in Dushanbe.
Particular attention was paid to long-term issues of interaction and bilateral projects.
On the first day of his visit to Turkmenistan, the head of the Tajik part of the intergovernmental commission, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma held meetings with the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the ministries of industry and construction, agriculture and environmental protection, as well as the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
