The authorities of Turkmenistan and Hungary have concluded a political agreement on the supply of Turkmen gas to Hungary, negotiations between the companies are next, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said, Interfax.ru reports.
"On the part of Turkmenistan, the political will and political intention is quite clear for Hungary to become one of the directions for potential supplies of Turkmen gas to Europe and one of the transit countries. The political agreement has been concluded, now it is the turn of the companies to continue commercial negotiations," Szijjarto said in a video message. which was broadcast on social media.
Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest. According to the Hungarian agency MTI, it was not only about energy, but also the expansion of cooperation in the areas of healthcare, the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, food industry, water management, as well as in the field of education and culture.
The head of Turkmenistan arrived in Budapest on a working visit at the invitation of Orban to participate in the events of the main state holiday of Hungary - St. Stephen's Day.
Berdimuhamedov will also be among the guests of honor at the World Championships in Athletics, which is taking place in the Hungarian capital.
