The national carrier of Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan Airlines, is strengthening its position by offering foreign tourists flexible routes at affordable prices, Travelpress.kz reports.

The Turkmen airline has increased the number of flights from Ashgabat to Moscow from five to six times a week. Currently, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kuala Lumpur are the main destinations for tourists from Russia with Turkmenistan Airlines.

The successful resumption of flights to Bangkok and the increase in available seats in December 2023 led to flights being over 90% full.

"The increase in flight frequency to Moscow is directly related to high demand and sold-out tickets for some dates in February and March," commented Anatoly Zubenko, Director of Development at ITM Group, the main agent of Turkmenistan Airlines in Russia.

The total travel time for a tourist from Russia to Kuala Lumpur, including connecting flights and waiting time, is about 13 hours. Compared to the alternative route via Dubai, the minimum flight time is 12 hours and 35 minutes, but the layover time is about 7 hours.
