A Turkmen government delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyev, discussed modernization of the Caspian transit route at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy in Baku, Orient.tm reports.

At a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, it was emphasized that the sustainability of the Ashgabat-Baku partnership is the foundation for the stability of the entire Middle Corridor. The parties discussed expanding cooperation in energy, logistics, and the implementation of new investment projects.

The key issue during the visit to the Baku International Sea Trade Port was the technological compatibility of the two shores of the Caspian Sea. At a meeting with the head of Azerbaijan Railways, Rovshan Rustamov, dredging work at the port of Turkmenbashi to accommodate large-capacity vessels was discussed. The Turkmen delegation was presented with the experience of the Baku port, which has set a record with transshipment of over 100,000 TEUs.

Discussions with Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev confirmed that the corridor's future lies in real-time digital data exchange.

Atagulyev's visits to Georgia and Azerbaijan mark Turkmenistan's transition to a "smart logistics" policy, synchronizing the operations of the ports of Turkmenbashi, Baku, and Poti/Anaklia. Against the backdrop of Azerbaijan's participation in the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia, port modernization is seen as fulfilling the region-wide goal of creating a seamless "Central Asia-Caucasus-Europe" transport architecture.
