Turkmenistan and China have agreed to continue joint efforts in combating terrorism, separatism, and extremism. They also pledged to jointly protect the security and stability of both countries and the region, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
This agreement was reached during the ninth meeting of the Sub-Committee on Security Cooperation of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hadjiev, and the Chinese delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu.
The Turkmenistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that on November 20, the third meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese Working Group on Ensuring the Security of Economic Cooperation Objects took place.
It is evident that economic cooperation objects include hydrocarbon deposits and pipelines, the development and construction of which have been financed through Chinese loans.
