The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, discussed partnership matters in the field of digitalization of the economy and infrastructure, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and other advanced IT solutions during a working visit to Tokyo with the Minister of Digital Affairs of Japan, Taro Kono, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry's press service reports.
During the meeting, new directions of cooperation between the two states in the field of digital technologies and innovations were outlined. In addition, the Turkmen delegation held negotiations at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, as well as with representatives of major IT companies in the country, including NTT Group and NEC Corporation.
The parties discussed prospects for collaboration in the transport-logistics and telecommunications sectors. It was noted that digitalization is one of the priority areas of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan.
