The opening of direct flights between Turkmenistan and Qatar was discussed at a meeting in Ashgabat between representatives of the "Turkmenhovayollary" agency and the Charge d'Affaires of the State of Qatar in Turkmenistan, Ganem Abdullah Al-Remaihi, Turkmenportal reports.
Special attention during the negotiations was given to the possibility of establishing direct and transit flights. There was a proposal to organize promotional campaigns for Qatar Airways on the territory of Turkmenistan, including providing information about fares and services.
Also discussed was the provision of benefits by Qatari airports for the Ashgabat-Doha-Ashgabat flight of the Turkmen national carrier, in case it is launched, with the aim of increasing transit passenger traffic.
It was noted that citizens of Turkmenistan will be able to use an online service for simplified visa processing when traveling to Qatar.
Overall, the meeting confirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to further develop civil aviation and expand international air communication.
