Turkmenistan and Qatar sign 7 cooperation agreements

A package of 7 documents was signed following the talks held in Doha between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Turkmenportal.com reports citing the TDH agency.

In the presence of the heads of the two states, the following documents were signed:

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the State of Qatar in the field of prevention and elimination of emergency situations;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan and the State Prosecutor's Office of the State of Qatar in the field of prosecution;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the State of Qatar in the field of youth;
- The program of cooperation for 2023-2024 in the field of sports between the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sports and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar;
- Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on the promotion and mutual protection of investments;
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Labor of the State of Qatar for cooperation;
- Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the State of Qatar on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Qatar on a state visit on March 19, 2023. In December last year, he already visited Qatar on a one-day working visit. During the working visit, the head of Turkmenistan held talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, attended the 1/8 final match of the World Cup between the Netherlands and the USA, as well as at the Khalifa stadium, where the game was held, had a brief conversation with Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulomaziz Al Thani and President of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino.
