Turkmenistan and Saudi Fund for Development Sign Loan Agreement

At the beginning of 2025, the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a signing ceremony for a Loan Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Saudi Fund for Development in the amount of 300 million Saudi riyals, reports Orient.tm.

The loan will be used to finance the construction of an oncology center in Mary Province, designed for 200 beds.

The document was signed by the Executive Director of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, and the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rahimberdy Jepbarov.

The agreement was signed as part of the visit of the Executive Director of the Saudi Fund for Development to Turkmenistan. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad also met with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Saudi Fund for Development has previously participated in financing several major national and international projects, including those in healthcare, transportation and communications, and finance.
