Turkmenistan and South Korea Agreed to Simplify Migration Procedures

Turkmenistan and South Korea have agreed to improve the legal framework for migration and create more favorable conditions for mutual travel. The agreements were reached following talks between Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov and the Commissioner of the Immigration Service of the Republic of Korea, Cha Young-ho, Orient.tm reports.

The parties discussed ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of the two countries in each other's territories. These measures are expected to make travel more convenient for business, study, and tourism, reflecting the high level of trust between Ashgabat and Seoul.

On the same day, the delegation met with Turkmen students studying at Korean universities. During the open dialogue, the young people were briefed on preparations for the first Central Asia-Korea summit, scheduled for September 2026, as well as the upcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan to South Korea.

Deputy Minister Akhmet Gurbanov personally inquired about the students' academic progress and living conditions, emphasizing that the state views them as future specialists who will implement advanced Korean practices in their home country.
