Turkmenistan's Minister of Finance and Economy, Mammetguly Astanagulov, met with Rebecca Hunter, Starlink's Director of Global Licensing and Market Activation at SpaceX, in Bishkek, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan's report says.

The two parties discussed the prospects for partnership in:

  • Digital Technologies and Telecommunications: Leveraging high-tech infrastructure for national development.
  • Satellite Solutions: Implementing modern satellite communication systems across the country.

The Ministry's official statement noted that both sides "confirmed their mutual interest in the further development of long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation."

The Turkmen delegation's visit to the Kyrgyz capital was part of their participation in the second B5+1 Business Forum, alongside a roundtable session with members of the U.S. business community.

The talks occur as SpaceX continues its rapid rollout across Central Asia:

  • Tajikistan: The company officially announced on its X (formerly Twitter) account: "High-speed Starlink internet is now available in Tajikistan!"
  • Kazakhstan: Starlink has been officially operational since August 13, 2025, according to RBC.
