Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have introduced new transit benefits for heavy trucks, announced Tajikistan's Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrohim, reports Eurasiatoday.ru.
Turkmen authorities have proposed benefits for transit from Tajikistan, allowing Tajik heavy trucks to stay at the Turkmenbashi terminal in Turkmen ports for up to 60 days without charge, according to the minister.
Previously, trucks could be delayed at Turkmen customs for three to five days, causing significant transportation delays and increasing logistics costs.
