Turkmenistan is ready to deepen cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the fuel and energy sector, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated during a meeting with UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the official newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" reports.

The parties also highlighted new areas of cooperation in renewable and "green" energy, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships in this field, the report says.

Special emphasis was placed on the strategic importance of international transport and transit corridors for both countries.

The interlocutors noted the necessity of further collaboration in creating a multipurpose transport system, including maritime, rail, and air routes.

The UAE Minister of Economy noted that the business community in his country is interested in strengthening its presence in the promising Turkmen market.

UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri also met with Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The head of the People's Council noted effective cooperation with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which has signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the development of the third phase of the largest gas field in Turkmenistan, "Galkynysh."

"Galkynysh" is the primary source of supplies for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.

Berdimuhamedov emphasized the economic importance of constructing this gas pipeline on both the national level and for the transit countries and consumers, and invited Emirati business circles to actively participate in international projects being implemented in the country.

Turkmenistan plans to modernize facilities for receiving, storing, and shipping liquefied gas, which is produced by the state concern "Turkmengas."

Ashgabat intends to implement a trilateral logistics mega-project - the construction of the largest hub. Turkmenistan is also strengthening its gas partnership with neighboring Iran.
