The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and a delegation headed by the Secretary-General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), Sultan Rayev. The delegation arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the solemn events dedicated to declaring the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world for the year 2024 and to participate in the media forum "Turkmen Land - Center of Ancient Civilizations," Turkmenportal reports.
During the meeting, there was a detailed exchange of views on the joint events planned to mark the declaration of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world and the announcement of the year 2024 as the "Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World - Magtymguly Fraghi," as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
An important topic of discussion was the popularization of the works of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world, Magtymguly Fraghi, as well as the cultural significance of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau on various international platforms, such as TURKSOY, the UN, UNESCO, and others.
At the conclusion, both sides expressed satisfaction with the preparation of a rich program of events. Minister Meredov assured that Turkmenistan is committed to expanding comprehensive cooperation with the International Organization of Turkic Culture.
