The key outcome of the working visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to the United Arab Emirates was a series of documents signed on the second day of the Turkmen leader's stay in the UAE.
Among them is a Memorandum of Understanding between the State Concern "TurkmenGaz" and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Orient.tm reports.
This relevant document, crucial for further strengthening bilateral relations in the energy sphere, reflects the intention of Turkmenistan and the UAE to attract investment partners for the development of the third stage of the supergiant "Galkynyş" field in Turkmenistan and their potential participation in the construction of gas pipeline infrastructure aimed at diversifying export gas supplies.
The legal framework for Turkmen-Emirati relations in the fuel and energy sector was also enriched by the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between "TurkmenGaz" and ADNOC, expressing the parties' desire to explore opportunities for joint scientific, technical, and economic cooperation in reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere.
