Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during his visit to Ashgabat, the press service of Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry reports.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 20th Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and the European Union.
"It is a great honor for us to be received today in Ashgabat by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. We conveyed the warmest greetings from President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev," Saidov stated.
The talks focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries, enhancing cooperation within international organizations, and expanding regional collaboration.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of bilateral relations based on long-standing traditions of good neighborliness.
"Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral ties with Uzbekistan," Berdimuhamedov stated.
The sides also discussed coordination within the UN and other international organizations, where both countries traditionally support each other's initiatives. Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the upcoming negotiations would provide new momentum for multilateral cooperation in the region.
