In Turkmenistan, the construction of a new automobile bridge over the Garabogazgol Bay on the Turkmenbashi-Garabogaz-Kazakhstan border highway is nearing completion.
This project is being carried out by the team of the State Agency for the Management of Road Construction of Turkmenistan and its subordinate structures, reports Eurasiatoday.ru.
Construction of the bridge began in July 2022 in cooperation with LLC "Altcom Road Construction."
According to experts, international standards are being strictly followed. The bridge under construction is a two-lane structure with bidirectional traffic. It will have a length of 354 meters and a width of 21 meters.
The steel structures, which are the primary materials for construction, are imported from Turkey, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The project is expected to be completed in May of this year.
This ensures the bridge's load-bearing capacity, traffic flow efficiency, and long-term operation in compliance with international standards and regulations.
Currently, work is underway on concreting all bridge supports, including piles, columns, and crossbars, installing bridge control panels, insulating columns, as well as assembling and moving metal structures between the columns. The access roads to the Turkmenbashi-Garabogaz bridge are also prepared for asphalting.
