On November 12, Brussels hosted the seventh session of the EU–Central Asia Dialogue on Afghanistan, bringing together representatives from the Central Asian states and European Union institutions. Turkmenistan was represented by its Ambassador to Belgium, Saparmurat Palvanov, according to Turkmenportal.com citing the Turkmen Embassy in Belgium.

The meeting focused on sustainable development, regional connectivity, and humanitarian assistance for Afghanistan. The Turkmen delegation emphasized that stability in Afghanistan can be achieved through economic integration and the implementation of key infrastructure projects.

A central topic of discussion was the TAPI gas pipeline, which aims to connect energy suppliers and consumers across Central and South Asia. Preliminary estimates suggest the project will create thousands of jobs and generate transit revenues for Afghanistan.

Participants also discussed electricity transfer projects, including plans to increase Turkmen electricity exports to Afghanistan. Turkmenistan highlighted the importance of such initiatives for stabilizing border provinces and promoting small and medium-sized businesses in the region.

On November 11, Ambassador Palvanov met with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Edgars Stiprais, and the EU Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Gilles Bertrand. The EU officials expressed interest in practical regional initiatives to support Afghanistan.

Following the session, all parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued constructive cooperation on sustainable development, cross-border collaboration, and economic integration initiatives.
