Turkmenistan leads the rating of Central Asian countries with the lowest prices for diesel fuel, according to data from the reputable portal Global Petrol Prices (GPP), reported by Eurasia Today.
In Turkmenistan, the cost of one liter of diesel fuel is only $0.28, which is one of the lowest prices in the world.
This attractive pricing policy is explained by rich natural resources and government subsidies in the fuel sector.
Following Turkmenistan in the ranking of affordable diesel fuel among Central Asian states are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
The cost of diesel fuel in this region varies depending on the country. In Kazakhstan, one of the largest oil producers in Central Asia, the average price per liter of diesel is around $0.40.
In Uzbekistan, which also has its own oil deposits, a liter of diesel fuel costs approximately $0.45.
As for countries that do not have significant energy resources, in Kyrgyzstan, a liter of diesel costs about $0.60, and in Tajikistan, it's approximately $0.55. These states are forced to import fuel, which increases its cost for consumers.
Differences in diesel fuel prices in the region reflect disparities in the availability of energy resources and dependence on imports.
Nevertheless, the availability of fuel at affordable prices is crucial for maintaining economic growth and infrastructure development in Central Asian countries.
