Turkmenistan Hosts Global Science Forum on Innovation and Sustainable Development

In honor of Science Day, the Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan hosted the international scientific-practical conference “Innovation, Peace, and Sustainable Development,” Orient.tm reports.

Held in a hybrid format, the event brought together scientists, professors, and representatives of research institutions from nearly 20 countries, including Japan, Germany, France, Russia, Malaysia, India, Turkey, Kazakhstan, and others.

Participants highlighted the critical role of science and education in promoting sustainable development. Special focus was placed on Turkmenistan’s growing scientific capacity and its ongoing efforts to foster favorable conditions for research - through the construction of modern laboratories, equipping universities with advanced technologies, and expanding international cooperation.

The conference showcased practical examples of applying scientific developments to industry. Active collaboration between Turkmenistan’s research institutions and international partners is helping integrate innovations into various economic and social sectors. Foreign experts presented reports on advances in biotechnology, medicine, green energy, and digital communications.

Particular interest was drawn to proposals from Japanese scientists aimed at deepening Turkmen-Japanese collaboration in science and education. These included initiatives on water-saving technologies, renewable energy, and liquefied gas export. Japan’s experience in manufacturing complex industrial equipment was also highlighted - highly relevant for Turkmenistan amid its ongoing industrial expansion.

The Ashgabat forum served not only as a platform for exchanging scientific knowledge but also as a reflection of Turkmenistan’s growing presence on the global scientific stage.
