Turkmenistan increase pace of electricity production

Turkmenistan's Vice Premier, Baymyrat Annamammedov, responsible for overseeing the industrial, construction, and energy sectors in the government, has reported an increase in electricity production during the first nine months of 2023, Orient.tm reports.

Turkmenistan's Ministry of Energy exceeded its production plan by 13.2%, achieving a growth rate of 4.7% and an export increase of 2.2%. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production exceeded its plan by 10.3%.

The state concern "Turkmenkhimiya" demonstrated significant results by producing goods worth a total of 1.661 billion manats. Additionally, the State Agency for Road Construction Services exceeded its planned figures by 3.7%.

As a result of the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov instructed the preparation of an investment program for 2024 and the acceleration of work on the construction of designated residential buildings and settlements. Among the important tasks for the construction and energy sectors of the economy are the continuation of the country's power ring construction and the construction of power transmission lines from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
