A new industrial gas inflow with a capacity of 2.2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day has been obtained in Turkmenistan from a new well at the supergiant "Galkynysh" field as a result of perforation-explosive operations, Nebit-Gaz newspaper reports.

Well No. 238 belonged to the category of deep wells: it was planned that specialists from the "TurkmenGazBuraVaish" management of the state concern "TurkmenGaz" would drill 4,557 thousand meters deep. When there were only about 189 meters left to the fuel reservoir, gas workers carried out manipulations with explosives for accelerated drilling at extreme depths.

The successful gas transfer from the well was carried out using modern equipment from the Japanese company Sumitomo. The work, executed according to all drilling standards and norms, will allow the well to be operated for a long time. The group of drillers, consisting of six people, was led by specialist Parakhat Narbaev.

The "Galkynysh" field is a concentration of large deposits in the Mary region of Turkmenistan, whose reserves are estimated at 26.2 trillion cubic meters of gas, and taking into account recently discovered new reserves at the "Karakel" deposits, it amounts to 27.4 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
