From January to October 2023, Turkmenistan's trade turnover with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries exceeded $2.6 billion. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Khodzhamyrat Geldymyradov, shared this information during the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS in Moscow, Trend reports.
According to Geldymyradov, Turkmenistan's trade turnover with CIS states accounts for 16.5% of the country's total foreign trade volume. He emphasized that last year, Turkmenistan's trade turnover with CIS countries showed growth, reaching over $3.2 billion, which is 17% higher than the 2021 figure.
He added that in recent years, Turkmenistan's trade and economic cooperation with CIS countries has noticeably intensified, consistently strengthening trade and economic ties, restoring trade chains, and creating new markets.
The meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS took place in the center of VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy) in Moscow. Before the meeting, the prime ministers of CIS countries familiarized themselves with the international exhibition forum "Russia," which opened at the VDNKh exhibition center.
