This technology enables continuous monitoring of reservoir temperature and pressure, as well as remote flow control without costly and potentially risky geophysical surveys or complex well workovers.
Deep measurements are performed without the use of electronics, which, as noted, ensures reliable operation of the equipment for over 10 years. The system also enables the timely detection of water-cut intervals, prevents hydrate formation and wellbore compression, and increases the ultimate gas recovery factor.
The introduction of "smart wells" is of significant economic and technological importance for Turkmenistan. The country has some of the largest natural gas reserves in the world, but further increases in production depend not only on the availability of resources but also on the ability to improve the efficiency of their extraction.
New technologies make it possible to extract more gas from fields already being developed, while reducing the need for costly repairs and mitigating the risks associated with operating complex wells. This is particularly important for Turkmenistan, as increasing recovery rates directly impacts production costs and the competitiveness of exported gas.
