Turkmenistan, Italy discuss cooperation in education

A meeting took place at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan between representatives of Turkmenistan's education sector and an Italian delegation led by the Italian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, according to Orient.tm.

The Italian delegation included: prof. Filippo Costa Buranelli (University of St Andrews), a higher education specialist, prof. Carlo Frappi (Ca’ Foscari University), an expert in higher education, prof. Silvana Stefani (University of Milan Bicocca), a specialist in energy transition, dr. Enrico Vescetti (Italian National Institute of Health), a health sector expert, prof. Andrea Zinzani (University of Bologna), an expert in water resource management.

Discussions focused on strengthening Turkmenistan-Italy cooperation, with an emphasis on knowledge-sharing networks. The Italian side highlighted the strategic importance of partnerships with Central Asian countries. Key topics included:

  1. Energy: Adoption of sustainable technologies and practical energy efficiency solutions.
  2. Water Resources: Effective management and innovative utilization methods.
  3. Healthcare: Professional development, experience exchange, and joint scientific research.
  4. Education and Research: Academic exchanges, joint educational programs, and research projects.

Both sides expressed a commitment to deepening their partnership further.
