In Turkmenistan, the national video platform “Belet” is gaining popularity, including the YouTube channel “Belet Video” and the online cinema “Belet Film”. The Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan reports this.

The number of channel subscribers has reached 16 thousand 103 users, and the Belet Film cinema has 87 thousand 601 subscribers.

The platform's video content covers a wide range of topics and genres, from comedy and educational videos to sports broadcasts, music, news and travel. This allows Turkmen users to find videos for every taste in the national segment of the Internet space.

According to the Agency of Transport and Communications, the number of Internet users in Turkmenistan is 3.1 million people. To ensure high-quality access, the rented speed of the external Internet channel reached 170 Gbit/s, and the internal one - 95 Gbit/s.

The country continues to strengthen its telecommunications infrastructure, introduce modern digital technologies and attract foreign investment in the industry.

In particular, the state operator Turkmenaragatnashyk implemented projects worth $273 million together with the Islamic Development Bank.

The development of national online resources and Internet access is one of the priorities of the digital transformation of Turkmenistan, aimed at expanding the capabilities of citizens in the information sphere.

Since 2022, Ashgabat has been creating its own national digital network, not connected to the global Internet.

For this purpose, a special commission has been created to “develop a National Network not connected to the Internet.” It included specialists and experts in the development of the country's autonomous digital network.

In addition, the Main State Service “Türkmenstandartlary” has established a department for cybersecurity certification, with the help of which the state carries out certification of hardware and software produced in the country and imported from abroad.
