The meeting was attended by relevant Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Director of the Caspian Sea Institute, as well as heads of several ministries and specialized agencies, Orient.tm reports.

The commission members emphasized the importance of addressing Caspian-related issues, with regional-format meetings on the subject included in Turkmenistan’s Activity Concept within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust.

During the meeting, a report was presented on the results of the Interdepartmental Commission’s work on Caspian Sea issues in 2024. Special attention was given to efforts promoting the Caspian Environmental Initiative, proposed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the plenary session of the 78th UN General Assembly.

The participants highlighted that Turkmenistan has long maintained a proactive stance in developing balanced solutions on Caspian issues and has played a key role in shaping the legal framework for cooperation in the Caspian Sea. This process continues in collaboration with all Caspian littoral states within the framework of international law.

The meeting also reviewed the Interdepartmental Commission’s Action Plan for 2025, according to a press release from Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
