The opening ceremony of the 3rd Turkic World Film Festival "Korkut Ata," with the participation of representatives from the Turkic world, took place in Baku at the Heydar Aliyev Center, Orient.tm reports.
The importance of this creative project, which unites the Turkic world through the art of cinema and the cultural traditions of its peoples, was highlighted at the festive opening of the film forum.
The festival features 32 feature, documentary, and animated films produced in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Gagauzia (Moldova), Tatarstan, Yakutia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chuvashia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Tuva, and Bashkortostan (Russian Federation). The films will be screened at the Nizami Cinema Center from October 9th to 11th.
The festival was first held in the Turkish city of Istanbul in 2021, and the second festival took place in 2022 in Bursa, Turkey. This year, the 3rd Turkic World Film Festival "Korkut Ata" is hosted by Azerbaijan as part of the "Shusha - Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2023" program.
It has been agreed in advance that the next festival will be held in Turkmenistan. The festival will take place in the city of Anau, which has been recognized as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
