President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Member of the Cabinet, Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud, TDH reports.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening traditional friendly and fraternal interstate relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, characterized by openness, mutual respect, and a high level of trust.
Both parties noted that their countries successfully cooperate not only on a bilateral basis but also within the framework of reputable international organizations, primarily the UN and the OIC.
The participants expressed satisfaction with the annual growth in mutual trade turnover.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted that modernizing and diversifying the national economy, along with actively attracting foreign investment across all sectors, are key priorities of Turkmenistan's economic strategy.
Ashgabat remains open to effective cooperation with foreign partners, and the ongoing comprehensive socio-economic programs create favorable conditions for expanding the fruitful relations established in recent years.
Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia, both possessing vast reserves of natural resources, have a solid foundation for developing mutually beneficial partnerships in the fuel and energy sector. In this regard, the interlocutors noted the great potential and prospects for enhancing cooperation in oil and gas extraction, processing, and supply to global markets. They reaffirmed their mutual readiness to deepen the established effective cooperation, according to the news agency.
