During a working visit of the Turkmenistan delegation to Italy, a series of meetings with leaders of international agricultural organizations took place, the press service of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.
The head of the Turkmen foreign ministry, Rashid Meredov, discussed prospects for cooperation with the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Alvaro Lario.
The Turkmen delegation also met with the Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Maurizio Martina. The parties discussed the progress of joint projects and outlined new directions for cooperation. Special attention was given to Turkmenistan's interest in strengthening food security in the face of climate change.
During the negotiations, the Turkmen side emphasized the importance of developing the agricultural sector for sustainable development. The parties agreed to thoroughly explore potential areas for expanding cooperation.
