Turkmenistan takes measures to preserve the future harvest

The State Commission for the organized holding of the grain harvest in 2023 has been created in Turkmenistan. The resolution on this was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Commission was created "in order to further strengthen the economic potential of the country, systematically increase the volume of wheat production, which is a guarantee of food independence, organize at a high level the operational collection without losses and uninterrupted transportation of the grown wheat crop to warehouses and elevators," the justification of the Resolution says.

The document prescribes:

To the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, by organizing proper maintenance of grain harvesters on the ground, to ensure their productive and uninterrupted operation during the harvest season;

The Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, on the basis of concluding a contract with the Ministry of Agriculture, to ensure timely and loss-free transportation of the harvested wheat crop from the fields to reception points, warehouses and elevators, as well as the uninterrupted and efficient operation of vehicles.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection is allowed to use, on a contract basis, motor vehicles of other ministries and sectoral departments, as well as those in private ownership, when transporting wheat to reception points, warehouses and elevators.
