Turkmenistan begins transiting cargo via the "Rasht-Caspian" railway line in Iran. This was reported by tukrmen media source "Turkmenistan: Golden Age," citing the words of Milad Salehi, General Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways.
Next week, sulfur transit from Turkmenistan will begin on this route. The cargo will be transported from the port of Turkmenbashi to the Iranian port of Caspian, and from there by rail through Iran.
The "Rasht-Caspian" railway line is an important part of the international transport corridor "North-South," connecting the Caspian Sea with the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea. This opens up new opportunities for the transit of goods from Central Asia to the Middle East and South Asia.
The new route will optimize logistics and reduce delivery times, which may promote the development of trade relations between the countries of the region.
