Turkmenistan is paying special attention to enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector.
This is evidenced by the country's successful engagements with various nations and participation in international forums, where Turkmenistan actively showcases its tourism potential, according to a TDH agency review, Turkmenportal.tm reports.
A key example of this effort was the International Conference on the Main Directions and Potential for Tourism Development in Turkmenistan, held on March 27.
Turkmenistan’s well-preserved national heritage, numerous archaeological sites, and masterpieces of ancient, classical, and medieval architecture allow the country to improve its standing in the tourism sector, securing a more prominent position in the global tourism market.
Another significant event in this regard was the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Ancient Amul Fortress: Keeper of the Secrets of the Past", held on April 26. The event marked the inclusion of the Amul Fortress in the UNESCO World Heritage List under the "Great Silk Road: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor".
The main objectives of the conference were:
- Attracting international academic attention to the Amul Fortress, a strategically important point on the Great Silk Road
- Establishing a platform for excavations and research
- Promoting the findings globally and advancing cultural diplomacy
