Turkmenistan to supply liquefied natural gas to Uzbekistan free of charge

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to send a batch of free liquefied gas to Uzbekistan, Nova24.uz reports.

The state concern Türkmengaz was ordered to transfer the corresponding volume of liquefied gas free of charge to Uzbekistan, the official website of the Government of Turkmenistan says. At the same time, figures with the exact volume of gas supplied are not given,

Gas will be sent as a sign of goodwill, friendly and fraternal support to Uzbekistan in order to further strengthen good neighborly relations.

Earlier it was reported that Turkmenistan would solve the gas problem of Uzbekistan. Sardor Umurzakov, the head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, flew to negotiate with Serdar Berdimuhamedov on gas supplies.

Gas exporter Uzbekistan became this winter season as big importer of it due to unusual cold weather this year.
