A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy B. Yalakov participated in the high-level forum “The CAREC Region and the Multilateral Trading System: Deepening Integration in and Beyond Central Asia”, Turkmenportal.com reports.
The forum took place on October 22–23 at the World Trade Organization (WTO) headquarters in Geneva, co-organized by the WTO and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), according to the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his address, B. Yalakov emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s gradual integration into the multilateral trading system, highlighting the country’s priorities of aligning national legislation with WTO norms and strengthening regional cooperation to expand trade and economic ties.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Turkmen delegation held talks with WTO officials, discussing progress on Turkmenistan’s accession process, experience-sharing with member states, and potential areas of technical and advisory support from international partners.
