In Tajikistan, for the first time, two children under the age of 10 were fitted with new bionic hand prostheses. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan, writes Eurasiatoday.ru.

According to the department, the prostheses were fitted to the children on October 1, 2024, at the State Enterprise “Prosthetic and Orthopedic Plant” in Dushanbe.

The installation took place in cooperation with the Motorika company and through the mediation of the Russian Trade Mission, which organized a meeting with the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan to discuss the use of innovative prostheses for patients.

According to official data, there are more than 400 people in need of hand prosthetics in Tajikistan.

In addition, a master class was held over the course of three days on providing people with disabilities with new technological models, including bionic hand prostheses.

This cooperation became possible after the conclusion of a memorandum on the development of the rehabilitation industry between the governments of Russia and Tajikistan in March 2023.

As reported by the Ministry of Health, today, October 2, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population will host a presentation of the products, works and services of the Motorika company.
