Paolo Zampolli, U.S. Special Envoy for Global Partnerships, currently in Tashkent, delivered a personal message of congratulations from President Donald Trump to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of Uzbekistan’s Independence Day. The two sides held substantive talks on deepening strategic cooperation, the presidential press service reported.

A key outcome was the agreement on a joint calendar of bilateral engagements, including the first meeting of the Extended Strategic Partnership Dialogue this autumn and intensified inter-parliamentary exchanges following the “Uzbekistan Day” event at the U.S. Congress in July.

Economic cooperation remains a cornerstone of the relationship. The portfolio of joint projects has exceeded $11 billion, and over 100 American companies participated in the Tashkent Investment Forum in June. Priority sectors include critical minerals, aviation, agribusiness, digital technologies, and finance.

Special focus was placed on the C5+1 format (Central Asia + United States) as a platform for scaling bilateral agreements into regional initiatives. Launched at a historic summit with the U.S. President in September 2023, the C5+1 Critical Minerals Dialogue and joint commitments on security, climate, and economic resilience have laid a strong foundation.

Today, the format acts as a multiplier for cooperation, driving joint projects in clean energy, water management, logistics, and digital transformation.
