UN Commission assesses potential of Turkmenistan in hydrogen energy

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is implementing a project to assess the potential of Turkmenistan in hydrogen energy, Trend reports.

"Today, the UNECE is implementing a project on sustainable production of hydrogen in the region and its role in the development of energy. The purpose of the project was to analyze the potential for sustainable production of hydrogen energy in both Turkmenistan and other CIS countries," the Commission said.

The study of the potential of Turkmenistan in the export of hydrogen energy is also given attention, the report says.

"Turkmenistan is one of the countries included in the UNECE 2022 State of Renewable Energy Report. The report examines the state of renewable energy in 17 UNECE priority countries, with a particular focus on South-Eastern and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Russia ", emphasized in the EEC.

The ECE added that this report is aimed at promoting the development of renewable energy sources in the region, studying the evidence and raising awareness of the huge potential of this area and its benefits in the target countries.
