The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has expressed its readiness to assist in the digitalization of Kyrgyzstan's railway systems. This was mentioned in information from the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, Economist.kg reports.
Deputy Minister of Economy Sanjar Bolotov met with Deputy Executive Secretary of UNECE Dmitry Mariyasin. During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation in several key areas:
- Promotion of such product lines as dried apricots, prunes, beans, and bottled water in the EU market;
- Establishment of a quality control inspection for key agricultural products (fresh vegetables and fruits) in Kyrgyzstan according to EU standards with the support of UNECE;
- Development of service exports from Kyrgyzstan within the framework of WTO and World Bank initiatives.
Special attention was paid to the development of transport logistics within the framework of the SPECA multimodal corridor and the creation of the SPECA Fund with the participation of Kyrgyzstan.
The parties also agreed on UNECE's support in the digitalization of railway systems and the synchronization of intercountry railway connection systems within the framework of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" project. Additionally, projects for the extraction of critical mineral resources were discussed.
