Uzbekistan agreed to organize business missions of US regions

Questions regarding further strengthening of Uzbek-American relations as strategic partners and enhancing multifaceted cooperation were discussed during a meeting in Tashkent between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the delegation from the United States led by Senator Steve Daines and Chairman of the House Committee, Congressman Mike Rogers, Ritm Eurasia reports.

"The high level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, ongoing active contacts, and exchange visits were noted with particular satisfaction. In September of last year, the first summit of Central Asian and U.S. leaders in the 'C5+1' format was successfully held in New York City, as well as fruitful business meetings," stated the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

An increase in the volume of mutual trade, which grew by 30% by the end of 2023, was highlighted. The number of successful American companies operating in the Uzbekistan market is increasing. For example, "Air Products" is implementing investment projects in the country totaling over $10 billion.

Special attention was paid to the continuation of active practical cooperation with the states of Montana, Alabama, Washington, California, and Texas, represented by American legislators. An agreement was reached to organize business missions of American regions to Uzbekistan.

The delegation of U.S. senators is currently in Central Asia and has held official meetings with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
