Uzbekistan and ADB signed projects worth $3.5 bln

Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of a program for the years 2025-2027 totaling $3.5 billion, the press service of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan informed.

The signing took place within the framework of the 57th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, held in Tbilisi. The event, held under the general motto "Bridge to the Future," was attended by a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev.

"During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the program for the years 2025-2027 totaling $3.5 billion was signed by Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Khurram Teshabaev and the Director General of the ADB for Central and West Asia, Evgeny Zhukov," the statement said.

The program reportedly includes projects of mutual interest to both parties and correlates with the "Uzbekistan 2030" Development Strategy.

Uzbekistan became a member of the ADB in 1995. Three years later, a representative office of this financial organization was opened in the country. The total amount of funds provided by the ADB to Uzbekistan's sovereign portfolio has reached $12 billion. Last year, the ADB allocated 6 loans and 1 grant for 4 sovereign projects and 2 programs.
