Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the completion of domestic procedures required for the entry into force of the intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa exemption between Uzbekistan and China. The agreement was signed in Chengdu on December 1, 2024, reports Gazeta.uz.
The agreement will take effect on June 1, 2025. Under the terms of the agreement, citizens of both countries will be exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, or transit through the territories of the two states for stays of up to 30 days per visit and no more than 90 days in total within any 180-day period.
Each entry and stay must not exceed 30 days. If a stay of more than 30 days is required, a visa must be obtained in advance.
The visa-free regime does not apply to employment, education, media activities, or other forms of activity that require prior approval from the competent authorities of either country.
Additionally, the agreement does not cover visits to China's special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
