Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to jointly develop cybersecurity

Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of cybersecurity. The two countries will collaborate to combat and mitigate the impact of cyberattacks. This memorandum was announced by representatives from the Uzbekistan Cybersecurity Center, Kursiv reports.

The memorandum was signed between the Uzbekistan Cybersecurity Center and the State Cybersecurity Service under the agency "Turkmenaragatnashyk" during the CSS 2023 summit.

Under this agreement, the two parties plan to exchange expertise and jointly train specialists in the field of information security. The collaboration will also extend to protecting websites from viruses and hacker attacks.

The Uzbekistan Cybersecurity Center, formerly known as the Information Security Center, was established in 2013. It collects and analyzes data on cybersecurity threats, certifies technical means, and collaborates with operators and providers.

In 2023, Uzbekistan ranked 94th in the National Cybersecurity Index (NCSI).
