The positions of Uzbekistan and the United States on many regional and global issues are increasingly converging, said Presidential Adviser on Foreign Policy Abdulaziz Kamilov in the Davra podcast on the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.
According to Kamilov, the United States remains the world’s largest economy, with a GDP of around $30 trillion, and the most technologically advanced nation with significant military power. He noted that the two countries’ perspectives on international affairs are becoming more aligned.
“Today, President Trump’s views and our positions on regional and international issues are becoming increasingly close,” Kamilov emphasized.
He cited President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s stance on the situation in Gaza, highlighting Uzbekistan’s call for an end to violence. Kamilov praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s new peace initiative, which envisions a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from most of the Gaza Strip.
Kamilov added that Trump’s proposal has been supported by leaders of major Arab states and expressed confidence that the peace process would bring Tashkent and Washington even closer.
He also recalled that during President Mirziyoyev’s visit to the United States on September 20–24, agreements worth over $105 billion were signed. The meeting with President Trump, Kamilov noted, brought bilateral relations to a level of greater stability and predictability.
